Oh the things you hear on a dispatch scanner late at night.
At approximately 10:10 p.m. on Friday night, firefighters were dispatched after a woman called 9-1-1 saying her cat was stuck in a tree.
Approximately 10 minutes later, a voice came over the scanner updating the situation.
"Now the woman is in the tree, guess you can save her."
According to Great Falls Fire Department Battalion Chief Steve Gonser, when firefighters originally arrived on the scene, they determined the cat could not be retrieved without putting rescuers in harm's way.
After hearing this, the woman then went up the tree herself to attempt to rescue the feline but got stuck.
Firefighters then reached the woman by ladder. Both the kitty and the owner escaped unscathed.
