Anyone have any experience with this setup (2005 6" travel Firefly)? I have an '02 Super T and am looking for more of a trail bikeish setup. I did a search and didn't find much. I am 180lbs, not super smooth on parts and ride a lot of street. Any durability issues? Thanks. :D

I am assuming the "plus" stands for onePOINTfive head tube. Therefor you cannot run it on your standard headtube bullit...

No experience with the Firefly plus but I have a Bullit which had a Super T on it I was either gonna go with the 04 Firefly or Z150. I ended up with the Z150 due to price and as a trail bike...this thing rocks!

Not sure about it on a bullit but there are a couple of general comments on the fork in the 2005 Long travel single crown fork thread sticky at the top of the DH forum...as for how your geometry will be affected, it looks like the manitou has a 21" or 21.5" axle-to-crown dimension, so if you measure your current fork you should get some idea. Generally there won't be as much of a difference as you might think because the crowns on most long travel single crown forks are a little bigger than the lower crown on a DC fork like your super T...

Z150FR worked great on my Bullet & has a Long axle to-steerer length !
It's 7# weight.Check oil level & set to max rec. height & you'll be fine !
I have a PIKE now on my Haro Werks DSR i just got 5 minutes ago from UPS.

BigKona,

Do you know what the axel to crown height is on the pike? I have been hearing good things about this fork. Thanks.

i have one and it is great. my friend measured his and at 140mm setting the axel to crown was 508mm i think which seems kinda short.

yah i was that friend...

it was not exactley the best measurement, i did it while it was still on my bike. but yes that does seem short.

NSMB has a great review of the Slider Plus. Different I know, but it has the same guts as the Firefly. Might be helpful.

I am considering the same fork for my Heckler. I have a Vanilla now but I am tempted to go with a six inch fork to match the increase in travel the DHX has given my frame. My only major concern is trading Plushness (Vanilla) for the less plush but more efficient Firefly with SPV. I love the fact that the Firefly can be adjusted to 110mm for climbing. My Vanilla locks out but it is at 5". Good luck.

Thanks Rubber and Everyone for your input. The NSMB review gave me confidence that the damping in the Firely will be great for me as I am going to be pedalling my Bullit everywhere.

No, manitou lied when they said that they had to use a 1.5" steerer for a 6" fork.
