Hi guys, I want to buy my first downhill bike and I'm hesitating between 2 models.

The first one is a second-hand commençal supreme 8 (2012).
The second one is a brand-new ironhorse yakuza ojiki (2008).

Both are the same price. Which one do you recommend me ?

What are the prices? The Yakuza was introduced for exactly what you're doing - people looking to get into riding at an affordable price. The Commencial will be a full-on dh race bike. Give us some more information. Cost, forks, condition, brakes, wheels and where you live/will be riding if possible and we can help you out more with that info. EC

^This. I'd go with the newer bike though, even if it's been ridden already. Modern geometry, newer parts...

Oh and welcome to the :monkey:

i would recommend the commencal. if only for the fact that the company is still in business, so if something on it breaks you will still be able to get a replacement part.

Commencal is french so their CS is far from good and the supremes had some issues (alignment on some frames) but I'd still get it. It's very popular in yurp so worst case scenario you can find used parts abroad. Not so easy for an old discontinued frame.

It looks really one sided so i think I'm getting the commençal.
