"Sorry granny-gear lovers, there’s no room for front shifting on the new Nomad"
What about big ring lovers? For my part, I could do without the granny, and have for many years, but there is no way I will give up having something up front with at least 44 teeth. It has been disconcerting watching front ring standards dropping from 46 to 44 to 42 and nowadays, reaching ridiculous sub-40 numbers. Do the kids have no strength for the higher gears?

Front rings have been getting smaller, but so have the small cogs on cassettes, and wheels are getting larger in diameter.

Sure you can't pedal at 40 mph, but it's hard to do that on singletrack anyways.
