How do you guys fix a sightly bent disk brake rotor without removing the disk from the hub? Do you use a set of pliers with a shop rag to protect the rotor?

I use a 1" adjustable wrench. If you're careful there's no reason why it should damage the rotor. Just use the caliper to determine where the rotor is bent, slide the wrench over it and adjust it down, then pry at the rotor a bit. Check it again. Lather, rinse, repeat.

You can also wrap a zip tie around the fork leg/frame stay to use as a truing guide.
