Did Lance give the finger to Floyd at the end of the 5th stage? There were a bunch of letters on Velosnooze slammin' Lance for some unsportsmanlike gestures or actions towards Floyd after he smoked him on the climb.

Did anyone see the coverage?

I saw the coverage. I don't think he gave him the finger but pointed at the clock to rub in the fact that Floyd lost the lead. Lacked class is you asked me.

I don't think he flipped him off either. Just pointed at the clock as the new youngster on Discovery took the lead. Seems like there may be a little bad blood over Landis leaving.

That can't be! Lance doesn't have a vindictive bone in his body... Just ask Simeoni or his old personal assistant...

Well I talked to someone that was with Discovery during the Tour of Georgia yesterday and found the scoop about the gesture.

Apparently after the time trial in which Floyd won, he made a big production of going by the Discovery bus and pointing out that he had won. Specifically, he said "Discover this." There apparently there were a few other words spoken but for the most part it was considered more boys being boys. So when Danielson took the lead and Lance put Floyd into trouble, his gesture towards the clock was a reminder of who the boss is.

As for bad blood between those that used to work for Lance. Let's see Tyler wins a stage and the first person to congratulate him was Lance. Levi crashes on the descent in the Dauphine and Lance shuts the race down so Levi can catch back up. Not sounding like Lance is all that bitter about those guys leaving.

The person that caught the most crap was Kevin Livingston. Kevin left Postal to lead the Linda McCartney team, with Lance's blessing. However, when that fell thru he went to Telekom to help Lance's main rival. And it wasn't just any teammate, it was someone that Lance considered one of his closest friends. Of course that is going to lead to some hurt and animosity. Telekom ended up being the worse place in the world for Kevin, effectively ending his cycling career. Which even according to Kevin is what Lance told him would happen.
