Downhill Mountain bike racing returns to Schweitzer for the first time since NORBA in 2005. Fluidride Cup, the Northwests premiere racing event, will make Schweitzer stop #4 on their 5-stop tour, with other stops at Whistler, B.C. and Mt. Hood, Oregon.
Schweitzer plans to construct a new pro course specifically for the event, with the potential to take advantage of 2200 ft of vertical. Existing trails will be designated as the intermediate and beginner courses. Anyone who remembers racing there can tell you that this mountain is the real deal with terrain that just keeps coming, Fluidride owner, Simon Lawton wrote on his webpage. With such large vertical, Schweitzer may make a great future Fluidride Enduro location as well.
