So my Canon 1000D (Rebel something-or-other) has suddenly decided it doesn't like focusing properly.

Auto focusing on a simple object will make it 'hunt' like crazy, then settle on what is ultimately out of focus. Another half press of the shutter will make it hunt again, then again settle on an out of focus image.

This isn't happening all the time, but often enough to piss me off. It is doing it regardless of the lens I use, which makes me think it's the camera.
