Hi guys, I'm after some help - as no one over here in the UK seems to have tried this (not that it seems that special)

I want to run a Saint 203mm brake on the back of my 04 mono which has an IS brake mount.

I don't want to order a standard brake to find out it won't fit, but I'm sure the IS - post mount that the Saints come with won't fit on the brake mount on the Foes.

Anyone ride a Foes with Saints on??

Was it easy - what do I need to order?

Cheer in advance for the help!

It would seem all you need is a post mount adapter. Hayes are post mount calipers and I have seen them on Foes bikes. I beleive Hayes adapters would work for you.

yes I thought that - but I've tried what I thought was a standard IS to Post Hayes adaptor that came off a Kona Stab (full bike) and the adaptor would not fit on the Foes brake mount. Basically the brake mount on the foes is machined out on the inside so there is no room for anything to come directly off the top of the IS posts like the standard IS to post Hayes mount does.

I'll see if I can work out how to post a pic - or at least post a link to a pic.

You will most likely need the post mount floater. I use this set-up with the saints on my Mono and it works great. The IS floater is designed to work w/ 8" rotors w/o an adapter so I'm not sure there is room for an adapter (as you mentioned). The post mount also is designed for 8" rotors w/o an adapter so Hayes and newer Shimano brakes bolt right on, no extra hardwear.

cheers guys - yes I've just heard from Foes (I'm pleasently suprised they emailed back!) that they reckon the only way it can be done is to change from the IS to the post mount. So I know that will work, if I can't figure anything else out. Just didn't really want to spend $100 + shipping and import tax, on top of the price of the brake, but it looks like it might be my only option.
