They are destructive lil buggers tho, I still rmember one hike where they destroyed pads pack the tent and a few other bits and then when we got back to the car found they'd ripped all the rubber seals around the rear window out.

If you can, sneak up on them and decapitate them quickly. They are tastier when they suddenly die.

so they want to distract the birds so they don't damage the equipment that is destroying their habitat... and the conservation society is enabling this. there must be something I'm missing.

edited to add:
we have a lot of "linear park" in my town, running along a lot of major waterways, so lots of Canada Geese. They can overwhelm the "multi-use pathways" and people can get really close to these wild animals, not realizing they are quite belligerant, and strong. Comedy frequently ensues!
