Maybe he figured he was entitled to win after taking P-R. Um, no.
i remember at the Tour DeTrump when it finished in downtown Boston there was this Russian team rider who had done the "V" arm raise like he won the stage, but the dummy didn't realize was that there was one lap to go!!! They're ringing the final lap bell and this tard is raising his arms in victory!!!! i was right there when it happened. he was past the finish line when he realized what the hell was going on, but by that point the group caught up to him, and left him standing like a pylon!!!
Are there a large number of Boonen haters?
In some cases, yeah, but I have respect for a guy who can haul himself over a number of mountains, then still have the juice to hit 45+mph on the sprint to the line. Or the guys who are sprinting for the last stage of the Tour in Paris after 3 weeks of getting their asses handed to them on the hills, just trying to stay in it...
Lots of race winners do that though including climbers.
