Hi all. I'm wondering if anyone else out there has ever scratched the stanchion of thier fork? I recently bailed and now the left fork stanchion has a fairly deep scratch in it that allows oil to come out onto the stanchion. It hardly leaks at all -really just leaves a little residue when I hit hard enough to get the slider up where the scratch is.

Canyou fill that in with anything? Wax, perhaps? I am doubting it but I really dont feel like dumping the dough to replace my fork. ITs a 2001 Marzocchi Z1 OEM on this '01 Stinky I ride.

Was just wondering if anyone had ever successfully repaired such a scratch or if you can replace just the stanchions without scrapping the whole fork.

Thanks in advance to all who reply,

Chad

Just make sure you take any burrs with some really fine grit sandpaper first so you don't fawk up your seals.
