are you talking about like in grams??? I don't think there is much difference; you DEFINITELY wouldn't notice it. You would, however, notice a giant difference in the damping characterisitcs of the fork between the 5w and the 20w. The "weight" really only refers to the viscosity, not the actual weight in grams or pounds of the oil, although I wouldn't be surprised if thicker oil was a little bit heavier than thinner stuff.
in all actuallity...it could. water weighs more than gasoline per/ga so a denser oil might....i dont think anyone is going to win a race or endo off drop due to the weight of the oil in their forks though. should people who run air forks change the air from summer to winter?........jk!
