I just got an 03 Boxxer Team off ebay. I measured the steerer tube on my bike before i bought this one, and thought it would fit. Me being the idiot i am, didnt account for the fork i had, had an integrated stem. Now i have an 03 boxxer team, and ive tried 2 differetn stems(wayless dh, and easton mg60, the mg60 being the shorter of the 2). I put the stem on and there is still about an inch before the top of the stem. Now these are my options, even though i dont want to spend that much money at all. I have a FSA 1/5-1/8reducer headset already, and i could:
1. Get e13 cups/new is headset
2. Get a sic stem(those have really low stack hieght right?)
3. Try to sell this fork and get a new fork:(

do you guys haev any ideas? i dont want to spend too much money, so if could find a used sic stem or somethinglike that id do it.

Why don't you just get a Romic top crown and stem combo? That should solve your problem. If your in Orange County California the Bike Co should have one in stock.

You could always sell your fork and get a Marzocchi. That would solve the steerer tube problem and all the problems you're gonna end up having with you RS.

romic/stem=$139 from bike co.
If i got the 05 boxxer topcrown, id still have to buy a stem, which come out to like $200.
as aposedto getting the e13 zerostack+headset for like $75.
Unless you guys have any used ones...thats the cheapest bet.

I have no experience with the E13 zerostack. I can tell you that the Romic crown & stem set up that I've been running for the last few year is GREAT and worth every cent!!!

get a bmx stem. i had your exact problem on an older psylo of mine and i switched out my diabolus for an fsa powderkeg bmx stem, lower stack height than the sic i think, and it was only 25 bucks.

the On-One stem has a loooooow stack height. lower than than SIC stems, i believe. and when i called SIC about a price, they never got back with me. that annoyed me.

in the end, i got the e13 cups.

The reducers are great, but if the fork cam with a drop crown, you are likely to need to switch to a flat crown. Otherwise, the crown will smash the tpo tube. Had to do that on a 1.5 SGS, but having a lower overall setup makes the bike handle better, IMO.
Most cost effective may be the Romic crown or integrated Boxxer crown, since there is a good likelyhood that the e13 reducers will also cause you to buy a new crown.

I think that a RS crown retails for ~$130 and that you can get a full reducer set (cups and bearings) for ~$100.

Does that sound right?

Just use this as an excuse to buy the Romic crown. You'll save weight and the whole set-up will be stiffer. On certain bikes, the turning radius is better too.
