I'm burnt on racing my geared bike, so I'm going to start racing SS this year on a full rigid 29er. I bought the Performance Access 29er frame and I'm trying to figure out what rigid fork I should put on it. A friend told me that if I get a fork that is 100mm corrected, but hasn't had the rake adjusted for a 29er, that it will ride like crap (very sluggish feeling according to him). He was suggesting that I go with an 80mm corrected fork. Would an 80mm corrected fork be around 480mm axle to crown? Any input is appreciated....I'm a little lost on which fork I should put on this beast. BTW, head angle is 71 degree but I can't find if that is with a 100mm fork or 80mm fork.

465-470mm is what my Salsa suspension-corrected 29er fork runs. I think it's 43mm offset; some people are running much more (5-10mm?) than that.

If it's a 29er-spec fork, it should have more offset than a 26-spec...but even when I ran a 26" rigid fork with a 29" wheel, it wasn't too bad.
