use it to train your kid early...my 5 and 10 year olds love watching it (although the 10yo goes into the redbull menu and watches harescrambles-says he likes it better when everyone is racing at the same time :hmm:)
he watched as much as his attention span allowed at this point.

On the topic of arcane UCI rules and policies, I noticed G-Winnaar tapped an inside tape pole around the 3:28 mark and it actually broke the tape - http://www.pinkbike.com/news/video-world-cup-round-2-finals-2015.html

As silly as it is to ask, I presume there's no penalty because the bike/wheels never "left the course"? I just remember last season when he obviously went off course in Cairns, and was DQ'd because he didn't re-enter the course where he left it, despite not gaining any real advantage by having to find and eventually drag his bike out of the slimy HR Giger jungle morass. And I think it was Bernard Kerr who may have jumped over or out of the course at Leogang and he was DQ'd as well. Obviously in both of those cases it seemed like a relatively straight forward rules violation (silly of not), but I guess I wouldn't be totally surprised if they also had some ridiculous "your handlebar left the course" type rule. I mean, this is the UCI we're talking about.

EDIT - Bernard Kerr at Leo last year: http://wideopenmag.co.uk/2014/06/we-talked-to-bernard-kerr-about-his-world-cup-disqualification

"Unfortunately as I left the top I drifted wide in the air and landed wide onto the tape and poles. I was out for barely a moment and lost some speed. As the rule goes I should be DQ’d. The rule is just so black and white. If you’re out by an inch and it cost you 10 minutes you must still return at the same place or be DQ’d."

The pisser about kerr's run was that they moved the damn tape further out after he did that. Subsequent riders could land right where he did and not get penalized.

Honestly the most hilarious one to me was gwinn's quali run at lourdes. His bike tumbled about 50 ft downhill outside the course. How dare him run down to get it and NOT walk back up there.

So I'm contributing gibberish and nonsensical speculation as RM seems to be dying on the vine these days; It seems that the Demo was quite a compatible machine for no one other than Troy Brosnan. Now that it is gone, his results seem to have fallen off. Apparently he needs to go back to it like AG needed to return to Trek.

Umm, you do know that Gwin almost won the overall last year and won Lourdes by an absurd amount of time on the Carbon Demo. T-Broz had a break out season last year on the new Demo, won Ft. Bill and I think won the Oz national race earlier this year (and has 2 top 10s so far this season). I can assure you, no one likes to hate on Spesh more than me, but I don't think the bike is holding them back too much - despite the need to de-flex it with additional playdoh and a new rocker arm.

If you're referring to the alum version, then perhaps there's something to it, as Gwin certainly did seem to struggle with fit and set up. But I seem to recall Sam did pretty well on the Demo, namely winning World Champs at Mt. Saint Anne.

Seriously. Beyond the sillyness of a rigid tube that apparently pops when hit hard, they didn't even figure out that waving the bright blue flag of failure wasn't a good idea

And so I give you............BLOWCORE™
awesome. i lol'd heartily when i saw the blue tube emerge from that exploding wheel. you can't buy advertising like that.

At least they have their atheletes backs (and know how to spell their first names)...what exactly are the trying to improve upon? Aren't 99% of flats on a regular set up caused by poor line choice?

"We’re obviously always testing to product with our teams, and they have a slightly different tire than what is currently available on the market. Needless to say, the damage to both Nico and Harry’s wheels was from poor line choice. Failures are not impossible to prevent, but in both WC races this year we had significantly fewer mechanicals than in previous years. It's just really easy for people to see Procore if something happens."

Could not disagree more. As I've plainly stated many times on this forum, the real problem is poor velocity management. Trust me on this - I'm a widely respected and noted expert in the field. If these boorish rim abusers would just slow the fuck down, they'd basically never flat and ride the same set of rims ad infinitum. Yes, of course you'll need quad-piston Brembo brakes and 10" rotors for the longer tracks, but I feel confident I could descend Ft. Bill in 15-20 minutes (maybe more if I'm really on my game), and thereby avoid all these wheel related failures. It's not rocket appliance.

But yeah, not a good look for Scwhalbe, even if there are other factors involved in some of the failures. Viagra might sue them for such overt displays of flaccid blue tubes.

Please tell me where you saw that.

It's pretty awesome.

Right where Harry popped his was pretty much a funnel that everyone rode through.

Way to step up and live in reality schwalbe. Solid work.
