Guys, I've got dillema..
I plan to replace my Totem SA tapered on my Glory 2010 with Fox 36 180 Float. I was 100% convinced to order new Fox with tapered steerer till I got the more info from FSA about their angle headset "Option".

Will I feel stiffness difference between tapered and 1-1/8 strait steerer? I am ca 140lbs and don't huck.
Any other pros and cons?

I know I could get this angle headset http://www.ofanaim.net/has.html but it's 150 GBR, which I don't have. I think I can get FSA Option much cheaper.

Pls advise.

At your weight I seriously doubt you would notice any difference between the two, especially if you tend to pick your lines vs. just plowing. With that being said, that is a very capable fork, you would ok plowing if you wanted to. Me personally, I would go with the 1 1/8" so I had the option of using an angle set if I wanted to.

FYI, Cane Creek has a new angleset that works with a tapered fork.
I don't have an angleset, but I can vouch for the stiffness of the fork.
I am running a tapered Fox 180 vanilla and its just awesome. Super stiff and the damping and adjustments are great.

I know CC has got proper product for me, it's just price which is not proper, right now, for me...
Any other reports on stiffness?
And yes, I don't plow.

If FSA's Option price will be a the similar level as CC, I should get it pretty cheap.
So, it rather won't be reason to get or not strait 1-1/8 steerer fork.

Why not get the K9 cups?

Also guys - frango never plows. You would sooner see Chewbacka with a crossbow on a giant squirrel than him plowing ;) Not to say he isn't fast of course.

K9 ARC cost about 115 GBR, which is not cheap.

Always valuable input, thx Norbar ;P

Maybe I am crazy but I have a 180 talas that is 1 1/8th and i am a hack/hucker and weigh close to 200 with gear. Never been worried or felt it was flexy in any way.

I'm 165 and a pretty fast DH racer. I'll always take head angle over a bit of stiffness. The question is what head angle is right for your riding? I'm running under 66 on my 160mm fork bike (2010 Reign X with WorksComponents) and under 64 on my 200mm fork bike (2011 DHR with AngleSet). So, with a 180 I'd like something at or just under 65.

Well, Glory is advertised as 65,5* with 200mm (Boxxer) fork. Several ppl, including me, claim it's less... more like 64,5-65*.
I've got Totem on my Glory which is nearly the same axle-to-crown as Boxxer IIRC.
I am not aiming for 63*, coz we don't even have got such steep hills in Poland ;) But I would probably use 1* cup.
