  ...so meaty.

Message to Fox: Please make one with a 1.5" steerer.

Though the chances of that happening appear slim as the bike in the pic is available with a 1.5" headtube. :(

ok so i bought a fox vanilla for my XC bike. Been very happy with fox rears in the past. Heard tons of good stuff about their forks so i bought in. They are cr@p. if you look on mtbr.com you can see that 3 people other than me have had their drop outs break on them. I was riding on a local XC trail when next thing ya know im on the ground. WTF!!! get up get my bike try to start going again and my wheel is all wobbily. Check it out and the left drop out sheered right the F off. Call fox and what do they say. Thats gonna cost you $150 for new lowers. im like wtf man i was ridin xc if i was djin then id understand. $150. Screw them. I honestly thought before this all happened that fox was a reputible(sp?) company. I have decided other wise.

On a side note i have blown up a rock show rear(my own fault) and a cdale left. Both companies had me up and running in no time. A company with good customer service will keep everyone possible.

So moral of the story. Go ahead and buy these new forks coming out and when the 20mm thru axle breaks off bc it wasnt strong enough dont expect a replacement. bc you were prolly using it for too extreme of a purpose

end of rant

It sounds like you just got unlucky. I've gone through 5-6 fox air shocks in one season (2001) when they had some tolerance problems with them. They fixed all of them with no charge.

I also know people who have broken 03 Fox Forx and Fox took care of them.

Fox also addressed this problem for the 04 product:

The 05 QR line is further refined with improved damping carts and 8" rotors are approved...

Acadian,

It looks like an 8er based on the pic with a slightly larger adaptor, as it seems. Is that an 8er disc on the front? Has fox finally allowed 8ers for '05?

BTW, hot fork!

Specialzied is specc'ing the 36 as OEM on many '05 bikes if that's any indication of the expected availablility, also Specialized is using 8" rotors on QR Fox Forx for '05 so Sydasti is right...

OK i just have 2 questions about this fork:

1, will it fit my Gazzy 3.0?

2, do they come in rootbeer to match my Bullit?
