I was really wondering if this would work out well or not, a good freind of mine, has the desire to build a streetish hardtail, but isnt a super tech street rider, he doesnt want to run an 80 mm fork, and is a big guy that makes alot of mistakes. The specific frame of question would be a SC Chameleon. I know it is going to f with the angles alot, but has anyone thrown something like a 66 on a chameleon im just looking for opinions here...

again not for me 100mm for life :thumb:

chameleon can take any where between a 4 and 6 inch fork so i wouldnt worry about the angles going to hell. i dont know much about the 36 other than its rather expensive.

Yeah and the 36 is adjustable so even if the max 6" travel is too slack for street riding, your bud can just dial it down a bit. I think the 36 will be good for that application so long as the air seals prove to be durable enough for big hits, like drops to flat concrete...

In the Sovereign thread, I mentioned that the 36 *seemed* like an ideal fork; DW said the demo bike had one, and he was very happy with the way it worked out.

The question is, does he want to buy the first model year of a fork that costs more than his frame? If he does, make sure to post some feedback up for us bystanders to see! I'm going with a plain old TALAS 5" fox for my bike at this point. Also a good choice, I might add.
