I usually recommend Fox cause it's easy to get parts for compared to RS which changes their parts annually and seems impossible to figure out what exactly you're ordering.

yeah, their 129408124x parts are confusing, but at least you can still get parts for them 4-5 years down the line. Hell, worst case scenario you get a new damper for 70 bucks, which is pretty far off the 500 dollars fox wants.

Udi, mine seems to be gradually deforming. Instead of being conical/cylindrical it's gone a sort of pyramid shape. I noticed I was having to gradually crank up the rebound damping (seemed to be kicking back hard on big hits) and found this when I opened the damper - currently having to run 4 clicks from full-slow, which obviously isn't right for a 140lbs rider using a soft spring.

Contacted another guy at TF Tuned and found that they do actually have some stock left, also found another tuner in the same situation. Unfortunately I can't find anyone that will just sell me one (other than ordering from Enduro), they're currently all saying that they'll only fit them onto kit that's in for a service.

Mojo on the other hand are saying that the part has gone obsolete and they'd like me to call to see if they can help. Not their fault that Fox have done this to them either.......

I take good care of my stuff and my fork has a lot of life left in it. It would be a shame for a good product to be trash just because there isn't a stupid rubber part available to fix it.

Can we 3d print rubber material yet? Screw Fox, lets make our own haha

Shouldn't even need a full section profile. Just get the length, wall thickness, and diameters at the contact surfaces (that will be tough, and critical unfortunately). If I remember right, there are one or two ribs on it too?

A profile will be fast to sketch up if I can get those. The diameters of the damper body/bladder holder would be useful too in order to figure out the compression on the rubber.

The type of rubber will be just as important as all of that since there's alcohol in the fluid.

I just rebuilt a 2005-6 Fox 36 the other day. I was looking at the 34 FiT damper. The 36 damper you guys are talking about... it's the inside out, doubled over one right? I spent a few minutes trying to turn the 34 extrusion inside out to see if it would match the one in the 36. I gave up quickly. I realized that the lips on the end of the extrusion were different but I didn't investigate just how different they were. *Too* different? I dunno. Worth a shot checking it out? The 36 I serviced is gone but if someone else has one, it might be worth a shot.

Also, can you convert to another damper? I haven't looked at the Fox part numbers so I'm not sure if there are other options.

...and the FIT part. Pre-2010 weren't FIT I think. There was one year where lower-end models didn't have FIT whereas high end ones were.

Hmmm...I was contemplating a revalve of mine. Sounds like my money may be better spent with just selling it and buying something else or buying a new damper. Any of the suspension experts on this thread have informed opinions on the Avalanche open bath design vs the newer Fox damper?

If all else fails send me a message and I'll sort you out. Postage from Sweden to Scotland on such a small item is probably pretty reasonable.

well Mojo called today and were surprisingly sympathetic to the cause (they actually seemed genuinely p*ssed off by the situation). One new variant inverted damper should be here on Thursday at a very reasonable price.

Not the perfect solution as I'm still out of pocket more than the price of a rubber bladder, but I'll accept the upgrade!

I do not know how much you are aware of Fox compression design of the discussed time period,but in those days there was only R which was open bath without bladder, and there was RC2 FIT which had the bladder inside the bottom part of the cartridge. So guess what? Is it really for rc2? only god knows...

If I were in you situation I would buy all those bladders and assembly kits that were listed on ebay, even if they do not fit your fork. In two years you will be the king of the mountain whit the loads of spare parts that are not available through fox...
