On Fox racing shox site this am.

The "36" has a downloadable tech sheet

Axle to crown is measured at 535mm (575mm for Bomber 66 in 6" version) 1.5" lower not bad for a start IMO.

I wonder if the Fox version of ETA allows for travel to be active or does it simply lock it out ? I heard the 36 will have a feature like this. Anyone ?

The 150mm Z.1 is 538mm and built for a much more similar use. I haven't seen a "36" on a Demo9 or RMX yet, and don't plan to.

To be honest, advertising/claims-wise, the 66 has no equal. No other single crown is marketed for XFR (extreme freeride - not to be confused with *normal* FR) and DH.

no, the 36 will not have "eta", the 36 is a TALAS fork, with 4, 5 or 6" of travel.

that is incorrect.

the axle to crown for the 6" 66 is 555mm

i doubt its 1.5" longer than it needs to be. That tech sheet could be wrong still (like those secret OEM sheets that leaked out)
1st - the leaked tech sheets got pulled for allegedly being "incorrect". 575mm and 595mm.

Next - the more recent release (what vitox is quoting) was found on www.BTI-USA.com and the fork magically became shorter. 555mm and 575mm. I doubt BTI would just guess or make it up.

Recently - one of those lucky fellas in the Netherlands measured his production fork (6.6") to 590mm. See "vp-free with 66" thread. So that would give 570mm and 590mm.

Last - Brian P (I think) said the '05 Marzocchi online catalog was correct. Back to 575mm and 595mm.

So I'm guessing the longer numbers to be correct, and the shorter numbers to be pre-production tech info early release dreams/expectations that never panned out. And yeah, I guess I'm a bit info-obsessive about this fork, I want one!

wow then that would be one tall fork, i thought it was skyscraper with the figures listed at bti already especially when comparing the 8" boxxer to the 6,6" 66 was a close match.

i had taken these "shorter" numbers to be correct because during the "turmoil" following the posting of the 05 oem book scans there was mention about that those figures not only were preliminary but also incorrect.

If the TALAS system on the 36 is like the existing TALAS system. Then the travel will be incrementally (3mm increments) adjustable between 100-150mm. So not just 4,5 or 6" but anywhere in between...

This A-2-C measurement confirms my thoughts about the '05 Enduro SX trail's actual geometry with a 6" 66 fork as compared to the standard '05 Enduro with a 6" 36 fork. If the 66 is truly 1.5" taller than the HTº should be approx. 1.5º slacker. This would make it 67-68º (adjustable) and the BB height should be 14.5" or 14.9" compared to 13.7-14.2"

Kinda off topic but whatever...
