Fox 40 Rebuild TROUBLES

Went to rebuild my 40RC2 once again, and ran into the same problem I have before. The damper cartridge won't sit down enough to tighten the bottom nut down. I am only blessed with a few threads to work with. When I tighten with these few threads, the entire cartridge spins and thus I can't tighten more than a few 1/4 turns. I tried putting the low speed adjuster on to give me something to help keep it stationary when tightening it. No Luck. I really don't want to send the thing back to Fox, AGAIN. Any one out there with some experience, maybe some troubleshooting points?

This usually happens when the lid on the damper unit isn't flush with the canister (the canister containing the rubber bladder)

Take your compression unit out again and check that it's tightened. If it's been out too far you may have gotten air into the damping unit, so have a feel for this too.

It usually requires a drop of loctite on the threads to sit properly, can't remember the torque value, check on the Fox service site.

It's flush. I have not problem with that. I continued to rebleed it until there was no air at all. Very little play in the cartridge assembly.

I've come to the conclusion that there is a dent in the bottom of the lowers preventing it from seating completely down in the lowers. Or possibly the lowers bent all together. I have hit the lowers MANY of times, to the point that there are gouges taken out of the lowers, and that the lowers might not be straight due to this. Its a long shot, but a possibility. I also had a really difficult time getting the cartridge to break free from the lowers just to remove the old oil. That is why I believe it is bent, and not going back in.

Bummer, a new set of lowers then maybe.

They are availible in white, grey and black this year.

Usually don't ship with stickers, have that in mind, order them separately.
