Hey I have a Fox 40R (NOT RC2). I am into FR and not DH racing. I am a bashing, big drop person. The Fox 40R feels too down hillish and bottoms out on drops. I was thinking of changing to a 888RC. What do you think??

I would change to a 888 if I had the mooonay to do so. You can adjust the oil level in the 888rc to ramp up harder in the ending stroke. Notice the really low weight of the 40. Not that that is horrible, but could show to be not so good in the long run. But who am I kidding? Kyle Strait won the Rampage on a 40.

i have a fox 40rc2 and just sold my 888. 40 is way nice for dh and bottoms on big drops. 888 is a good fork super rampy thru the travel to get a 40 to ramp you have to add oil to it. fill it to 250cc. ive taken my 888 and 40 off 20'rs adn the 40 bottomed out sooooooooooo hard and the 888 didnt fell like it bottomed at all.

sounds like you want the 888
