Sealed damper 1 side only
Ti spring,1 side only
No material where it doesn't need to be.

Still it makes you wonder..but it sure seems burly when you look at it,like the huge arch, dropouts, crowns, etc.

DHS, your avatar gives me nightmares about undead piggy souls from all the bacon and ham I've eaten over the years.

Man you guys are fast. Is Scott's DH40 tuning article up yet? I looked on the website but couldn't find it. :)

Well How do EA70 Bars hold up? They are light and a lot thinner than other Crappy AL alloys out there.

So, just because Easton's EA70 bars are good, that means that this fork is going to be good since it's made of the same material?

Two frames made of an identical alloy don't perform the same... You can take the greatest, most expensive materials in the world and if you don't put 'em together right, you still get crap.

Heh. It doesn't really slow anything down, it just feels that way.

Any word on that 36 (now that you already bought a Sherman)? Last I heard was mid-March but the spotty arrival of the DH40's gives me hope they might come a little earlier...

Yes. Plus they have been hammering/Testing that fork all year....costs $$$$ tho.

Hopefully quality control on those are better than the 05 Talas i just got yesterday that was pretty much useless out of the box.
My GF just got a Fox FX80(?) and if we turn the bike upside down, the fork will move, but when we bring it back rightside up, it cycles about 3 times then totaly locks out? I need to go through the manual to see if it gives any clues to this....

:D

No word yet....

I think they are/were working full time on both forks and I know they have fulfilled the OEM demand for both so I wouldn't be surprised to see the 36's show up soon! The Sherman is working good though so I'm in no rush....

There won't be a DH 40 tuning article because they didn't leave anything for us to do to it!
And Scotty thinks it's ugly.

Because it is ugly.

I still think it's pimp but looking at my 05 888 on my bike i still have the warm fuzzy feeling. I'm a little jealous of the 2 compression adjusters though. It's like being able to adjust the compression sleeve on the 888 without removing the lowers, eccept for the fact that the adjuster preloads a spring on the valve stack instead of just covering some holes..OK i'm very jealous!!!
No oil height adjustments though....

Say, would anyone happen to know the total spring length, weight (not how much it weighs), ID & OD of the Ti spring would ya? I'm thinking I might be able to use it in my Mr Dirt FAT fork if I'm lucky.
The springs are HUGE-they aint gonna fit in yer fat.
OD is 32mm,and they're 485mm/19"long

so do you guys take apart everything before you sell it? I know you're professionals and all but if I'm buying a brand new $1500 fork I want to be the first person to crack the top cap, the first person to move the lower crown... Thanks for being inquisitive though, so the rest of us can get a better idea of what these things really are. ;)

Ahh, so the tuning article will look like this:

Step 1. Remove lowers and have them re-painted.

Step 2. Reinstall the lowers. You are done.

Hmmm . . . No drillings in the top crown to fit a direct-mount stem. Do I smell a new Go-Ride product???

For such a ding-a-long thats a pretty slick observation.
I didn't catch that.

Anyway, sice the weight of the Fox is posted in this thread it has me curious of an accurate weight of a Monster-T as well .
Burly vs. Burly if you will.

We just got in a new Iron Horse 7. and chop sawed the frame down the middle to make sure the downtube wall thickness was thick enough for our customers, and to check the weld integrety. :D

Your fork is still in the box,we only took 1 of them apart.

K-

So if I ordered one from Fox today what do you think would be the ETA till it gets to me...

Before or after my 7 more weeks on crutches?
Mid March is when the next batch will be done.

Oh and the Fox forks don't use ETA they have Pro Pedal :blah:
