I have a Fox floatR right now on my Felt Redemption. Can someone tell me what the extra piece on the Fox DHX Air does?

If you mean the air valve on the piggy back it is basically the adjustment for Propedal and bottom out control.

It will have an effect on other things too, but those two are meant to be affected.

Oh sorry, I just mean the "piggy back" thing?? What does that do that the FloatR does not have?

That refers to the piggy back valve.

In Fox speak, the R refers to rebound, meaning that is your only adjustment aside from air pressure. The DHX will have added compression damping adjustment (propedal) and bottom out control as was mentioned.
