I have a new Specialized Epic Marathon. Love the bike but not too crazy about the fork. Is it possible to remove the inertia valve mechanism and just have a nice supple fork instead. Or should I just sell/trade it for something else? Whattya think????

That inertia valve is what makes the Marathon go boom. I rode it around the neighborhood, and it seemed to function properly, without trying to tune it or anything.

If you want a non-stable platform fork, most people will have to give you cash as well as a good trade.

Heh, considering you can only get about 350-400 for them used... :p

I seriously will trade you straight across for the Reba, though. It's almost new. I just don't like the "motion control" stuff as much as I would Inertia valve, all it is like is a lighter Float RLC. AND YELLOW! :)

Are you still interested in a swap for my F100X? Take into consideration that my fork only has 7 inches of steerer tube.

let me know
