Has anybody ever taken apart a Fox float R/RP23? I'm looking at a bike with a float R, and I've found a "dinged up" rp3 which I'd like to take the lockout off of. The Rp3 is 2" stroke, and the bike I want has 1.75". Can I combine parts from each to make one shock with 1.75" stroke and the adjusters from the other shock?

The dampers use pressurized nitrogen so unless you can re-pressurize the damper after, no you can't do it.
