Any Fox Forx riders please chime in here! I ride the Vanilla 125R, and the thing is ROCK SOLID! I love it compared to my Zoke.

One question tho: when I'm climbing, or on flats, there is a clunking sound, almost as if the headset wasnt tight enough (which it is)....whats up with that??? There is no slop in the travel, and its smooth as $hit, it just clunks a bit when I'm pulling up, or on mini hits.....any thoughts?

Yeah Snickryder had the same problem. I felt it myself and it was bad. Felt just like bushings that were completely shot.

Now heres the weird part. Fox told Snick that this is perfectly normal. Sounds fishy to me :oink:

Ya know, I seem to remember hearing something about this discussed awhile back, but couldn't find it when I did a search so didn't post about it when I saw this yesterday.

It's supposed to be a really nice fork, but I've yet to see, in person, one that was set-up to the owners or my satisfaction. Always sort of feel wrong somehow.....Crazy stiff though.

a friend of mine had the same problem. I have met a couple of others who say that they have had similar problems as well including a mechanic at an LBS.

speaking to tech support at a popular mail order company when I was looking into a fox float, he reluctantly admitted to hearing of some similar cases. they sure seem like a sweet fork though

It cant hurt to try this: My buddy had that same noise so he decided on a whim to just open the fork up as if you were going to change the spring, and rotate the lil spacers that are they to adjust the travel. He said he does it once in a while and it makes the noise go away.

If it is indeed those spacers, I wonder if a lil electrical tape would stop the clunking. Maybe your clunking is different though.

I dunno, I dont really mind noises. If i can stand the buzzzzzzzzzzzz of a chris king rear hub on top of a chainguide, I dont mind a lil clunking from time to time hehe.

Interesting....like I said, the thing is butter...absolutely flawless, and yes STIFF AS A MOFO!!! No flexin' here!:sneaky: Its just a noise, and I'm concerned that the internals could get screwed.

I am planning on ripping it down next week when I get back from my big date.;) we'll see how that effects the noise.

Thanks for the input :monkey:s!

Recently reduced travel in my Fox RLC Vannila and had the same noise as well the lock out did not fully work... Local LBS was called in and we found oil level to be low, added appropriate amount (presto, chango) and knocking went away (lockout was fixed by decreasing blow off level). I was also told and read on other boards that the Fox shox take a bit to "break in" and this has reduced the amount of clunking as well...

Good luck - great fork!:D
