Could somebody please rep @mykel for me?Sure lets get into electronics when we can barely operate a business that is purely mechanical.
How about we fix the minor things first, like making something that does not creak worse than my grandma going up the stairs.
How about being able to design a damping circuit that does not need to be reinvented each year, hell, how about one that just operates correctly.
Never mind, it won't happen. This is a marketing company primarily, hardly a precision engineering outfit - Jesus H. Christos, this is a company that can not even get its lubricating fluids and greases applied in a proper or consistent matter.
meh.
one of my biggest cycling related gripes isn't mtb but road..... we can make electronic self adjusting driver trains but can't come up with a better solution than fucking bar tape.Sure lets get into electronics when we can barely operate a business that is purely mechanical.

Care to elaborate? Never had any issues with it. It's light weight, there's lots of different options, even more colours and easy to apply. What's your gripe?one of my biggest cycling related gripes isn't mtb but road..... we can make electronic self adjusting driver trains but can't come up with a better solution than fucking bar tape.
it fucking sucks. no, it's not *that* hard, but is a general nuisance compared to the ease of installing MTB grips.Care to elaborate? Never had any issues with it. It's light weight, there's lots of different options, even more colours and easy to apply. What's your gripe?

When I was a shop mechanic that wasn't an acceptable excuseThe solution is to not ride road.
also, thinking about this from a bike industry lizard perspective, your logic is flawed. nothing is ever good enough. no matter how good it is, there are always incremental gains to be had. you might need laboratory grade equipment to prove it, but it's there.Care to elaborate? Why do I get the feeling that’s because RC doesn’t preload, jump, or bunny hop?VItal seems to adress the downsides more.
milton waddams, is that you? With my third world salary and having just moved to 142 x 12 from qr and having sold my 2003 fs frame to some kid (he'll be the 4th owner) and reading about super boost plus and this live valve - FUCK IT, BRING IT DOWN AND BURN IT ALL YOU MOTHERFUCKING MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep. But he is using only 180mm rotors - same as the Woo.Why do I get the feeling that’s because RC doesn’t preload, jump, or bunny hop?
You hardly see riding pics of him in his reviews, if I recall it's mostly their other testers in the photos.Yep. But he is using only 180mm rotors.
DON'T GIVE THEM NEW IDEAS!!!Why do I get the feeling that’s because RC doesn’t preload, jump, or bunny hop?
Ohh nooooeeezzss!!!!DON'T GIVE THEM NEW IDEAS!!!
(now we'll get e-hopping bikes...)

It is until somebody shows you how it is done and maybe guides you through it. But afterwards it's just about not being all fingers and thumbs. Even my former work colleague, an architect (which means he's an artist, but without any craftsmanship over here), managed to get it properly done himself after shown to him.it fucking sucks. no, it's not *that* hard, but is a general nuisance compared to the ease of installing MTB grips.

Why wait? That's been around for a while....I am going to skip electronic suspension and just wait for virtual reality mountain biking. We can all go in group rides together without ever leaving our computers.
Augmented reality riding chasing a ghost down a track, Gran Turismo-style, would actually be pretty cool. And would also lead to some wicked collisions with hikers.I am going to skip electronic suspension and just wait for virtual reality mountain biking. Time for me to raise prices on my frames. Maybe slap a battery and some wires on the shock. Ask me for my leverage curve. So the retrofit kit of controller, sensors, shock and fork (36 in this case) currently retails for $3250.
Here is a google translation of an early review. (plenty of pics as well and the reviewers came away quite impressed)
I like it when one rider said "it was only locked out on a bump once, I'm sure it was an isolated thing". Or something like that. ya, it'll only happen once.Vital and Pinkbike rode the system:

Until we have sensors that scan the terrain ahead and pre-adjust I don't see how this will capture all of the moneyzI like it when one rider said "it was only locked out on a bump once, I'm sure it was an isolated thing". Or something like that. ya, it'll only happen once.
When I was a mechanic I always took a certain amount of pride in a proper wrap job. Also, I shuddered whenever someone decided they didn't like bar tape and wanted these instead:When I was a shop mechanic that wasn't an acceptable excuse

Not gonna happen. Even in the Merc, it is limited, pretty simplistic and only works up to 130 kph. With a max resolution of 3 mm. What the hell, that'll barely cover my Kamakazi speed.Until we have sensors that scan the terrain ahead and pre-adjust I don't see how this will capture all of the moneyz

Just give it blue-tooth and a little light that lights up when you connect your phone. No function, just a light.Time for me to raise prices on my frames. Maybe slap a battery and some wires on the shock. Ask me for my leverage curve.
