My fox RC pro pedal is making some clicking noises that gives the frame a 'monocoque click' type of sound. It almost sounds as if a bolt in the linkage is loose, and it's getting anoying as I'm used to having my bikes operate silently so that any new noise signifies a problem.

I've isolated the sound to the shock by removing the shock and replacing it with another. The noise disapeared with the temp unit, thus locating the problem to the shock. I've replaced the bushings, and tested them for tolerances and they are perfect. I've checked the spring and it's perch and it's ok. I even oiled the spring ends.

I had the shock off, removed the spring and perches, and compressed it and there was a slight 'click', that shows this is in fact where the problem is located.

So, anyone know of this problem with these fox units? I've had several fox units and this is the first.

Should I worry? Waranty?

Help me out.

Cheers,

I've got one that does the same thing. But yeah sounds like a loose linkage juncture somewhere. I had another propedal shock on a different bike that was pretty silent though. I haven't noticed any change in performance so I've just told myself it's part of the platform threshold and to think about something else while I'm climbing. I'm just going to wait until it's time for some service and then just mention it to fox when I get an RA number.

I had the same problem with my shock. I send it back in to Fox and they had to replace the piston...it had developed some play in it that caused the constant clicking. Just got it back this week and it runs like new!
