Hey guys,

I'm getting a new spring for the DHX 5 on my SX Trail. On all of the sites where I can look up spring rates, they recommend a 325 to 330 lb spring. Should I go with a 300 or a 350?

I would like to run about 30%, maybe a little less, which gives me the 325 suggestion.

Since you might get a 300# spring that is stiffer than a 350# spring or vice-versa due to the huge margin for error in steel Fox springs, it doesn't matter what you order! :D

If you went with a ti spring like an Obtainium with very precise weights, get a 325# (as they offer that).

You used the TFTuned calculator correct? I found that one to be spot-on for me as far as sag (got exactly 33%).

Yes, I used the TFTuned calc, I've heard that it's a pretty good one. I don't have the cash right now to get an Obtainium, otherwise I would. I already received a 300 lb spring from Fox as an EP order, I just can't decide if I want to keep it or try and get an RA# and exchange it for a 350.

Get it tested at a moto shop - Fox is notoriously inaccurate w/ labeling springs, so keep that in mind - you may have ended up w/ a 325#.
