I am trying to decide which casino to take my wife to later this month for her birthday. We're not very big gamblers, so it would mainly be to go out to dinner, some drinks etc. any recommendations?
No racino Jim, but a day at the track is always cool. It's looking like Mohegan Sun is the place. I had suggested a night out in either NYC or Boston but this was her choice. The extent of our gambling usually amounts to 20 bucks each playing shot machines, so it's more of a night out away from the kids.
mohegan sun. been to both. foxwoods is smaller and built more for gambling. mohegan sun is fairly large and has more of a vegas feel to it with lots of shops, restaurants, and 5 different themed areas.
don't know if you plan on staying at the casino, but i was just up there in april for my one year anniversary. we stayed at the best western cristada about a half mile from the casino and liked it. every room is a suite (living room and kitchen area) and there's free limo service back and forth. it was only like $150 a night, apposed to $300-$500 for the casino.
Seriously only $20 each to gamble? Why even go there? Just save your money, get an inlaw to watch the kids and go to Applebee's, plus she'll get a free dessert dish. But do get her some flowers
