I posted this on the Dh forum, but thought it be best here
hey guys, after hours of thought and bordem, I realised I really don't want to sell my karpiel DV, though the problem remains that the bike si simply two short for me since I have it with the short swing arm (which brings the bike to around 112,5 wheelbase) and for my 6'1 stature thats on the small side, so since karpiel is more less out of business now, I thought I could have some costume linkages made, so I decided to design some. After about 4 hours, of drawing it from an original picture, then scaling it up in the program, than copying, and ajusting the geo abit to acomodate myself even more, then designing the new linkages, then scaleing them down again so the file wouldn't be so big, here is the final product, what do you guys think, sugestions? by having these modifications, I maneged to lower the bb, increase the chainstay a bit, have a longer wheelbase, (upto 115,7), increase rear wheel travel by about a cm or so, add a bit more progressiveness, add rigidity to the whole thing by putting larger bearings, and even some more smoothness by adding a bearing to the shock linkage, well here it is, take a look
the original one is the bottom which I skecked out from a photograph of my bike, and the new version is on top, also I drew them both bottoming out to compare
