Okay, I'm trying to remember the junk on this nightmare rig*...

I think it was:

Stem: Kore B52 50mm
Headset: Chris King 1.125" Red Ano [with special Headshok reducers]
Bars: ? [bead-blasted blue ano, something from Kore, i think]
Brakes: Magura Gustav M [first generation - ceramic coated floating disks]
Frame: Cannondale SuperV-2000
Swingarm: V-SL 120mm (slightly longer travel than stock)
Shock: Helix Pro
Cranks: Magic Motorcycle/Coda 175mm w/rings
BB: Magic Moto/Coda whatever that fit
Wheels: Spinergy Rev-X Rox Disc CC (not the 'DH' ha ha ha)
RR Der: XTR 950 [methinks]
Ft Der: XT 750 [don't think the XTR fit the frame]
Forks: Judy DHO [hey, it was the early days, k?]
Seatpost: Some Titanium thing with a round clamp at the top, not Syncros
Pedals: Time Moab.

I was riding XC/Freeride on level ground with gulleys and drop-offs after work - usually Night-Rides - the waterbottle cage, Cateye nylon, held my Cateye Stadium [oh yah, me freakazoid] pointed down, while a regular helmet light from Niterider did most of the work.

Man, the money i wasted on bikes...

Had this rig about 2 yrs.

I'll try to dig up some of my others from that time period.

(Manitou FS, etc.)

Bike's gone the way of the Dodo around 1999, as I recall. Gave it as a wedding gift to a buddy who'd always dreamed of a cool funky FS bike.

'course, haven't heard from him for about 6 years.

Ahhh, life.

Here's the bike i built up for the (ex)Wife...

Frame: Manitou FS (the forks in the back one)
Fork: Manitou TPC (something new-ish with the bonded crowns)
Brakes: Magura H33s.
Hubs: XTR 950 - beadblasted look. 28/32 0 i think...
Tires: likely Wildgripper Lite from Michelin - the green XC ones
RDer: XTR 900 (the original long cage with the glossy finish)
FDer: XT 750 (special band-type clamp)
Cranks: No freakin' idea.
Pedals: Shimano DX Platform
Headset: Chris King 1.25" Turquoise Ano.
Bars: Early Easton EA70 Gold Ano.

Saw one of those in the bike shop the other day - buddy was buying a new chain. He claimed to have close to 50000 miles on the thing....

They were great cranks, back in the day.

Funny thing, they were the precursor to many cranks nowadays, but no patents applied for...

dolts.

It's a shame that Manitou frame wasn't its successor. I think that frame had the 1 1/4" headtube if my memory is correct. Anyway, that frame rocked, well, the one ride I borrowed it for.

Yeah, for some godless reason, i really liked that frame. Simple and very functional, single pivot, not urt, etc.
