As an American I think it is totally unfair to detain another country's citizen (except for Gitmo)

I hope not. From what I've seen, Tehran is a beautiful, technologically advanced city nestled in some gorgeous mountains. If it were in the States, I'm sure it would be at the top if a lot of our lists of places to live. It'd be a shame to turn it into a place like Bahgdad.
