I need to get a frame for a 5'2" beginning freerider. Does anyone have an opinion on what frames/brands tend to skew small? Ideally, who makes a good small frame thats not too heavy and is easier-than-average to loft the front wheel? Any ideas appreciated. -Oddblob

The small-size Bullit is pretty small. It should also do well for the other characteristics you're looking for.
i have a fren abt 15yr old (5ft 3", 95lbs), he setup his bullit (S size) with a rockshox SID. it's very light and fit him nicely for his size and weight

Is this for someone who's still growing, or for a short adult? What's the price range?

There are a lot of hardtails that would fit the bill nicely.

Its for a kid. The price needs to be reasonable - I'll be looking for something used - because I don't know how serious the rider will ultimately get - and she's only 13 and may grow out of a small. Thanks to all who've weighed in. I do like Bullits so I'll keep an eye out for a small frame.
