Wife and I are considering a move to Texas. How is the freeride in/around Austin? Is there any at all, or will I be disappointed?

you will be disappointed until you find or build some baddazz chit , the terrain is limited and it seems the big hills and cliffs are on private property , this can't stop us.

there's twin parks, just outside of austin - http://www.twinparkscountryclub.com. it's pretty cool if you like dirt jumps.

Oh c'mon...do tell. It's a similar situation up here. Ton of stuff, but you have to know people or be willing to do trail work.

I'm willing to do trail work. ;-)

There isnt that much here in san antonio besides mcallister park prety much jumps if you ride downhill then i know some trails that i built that a fricken burly.

LOL. Right on. We have some hairy stuff up here in Wa, and North Shore and Whistler are weekend trips for us, so I'd love to see the goods there. If/when I make it down there, I'll hit you up!

we have an mtb / bmx dirt jump spot. and there's tons of cross-country mtb.
