Morning folks. Why am I up this early on my day off? Going on some kind of hike-a-bike death march with SkaredShtles and have to drive damn near three hours to get there. :monkey:

Why hello there, little monkeys! LMAO. Ok, the office stinks of something rotten today...smells like sour milk or a dead animal, I can't tell which. If it's a dead mouse, it could be hidden anywhere. Cripes.

Busy weekend of riding planned! MTB tomorrow, and an employer-sponsored 50 mile charity road ride Sunday. HOORAY!

my friday means nothing this week i work all weekend and all next week with 1 day off. oh well, last night i had the costumers from hell, they where 2 hours late on there bike rentals and refused to pay the money they owed. spend a good 20 min with arguing with me until i said finally either pay or ill have the cops here. they then proceeded to call my other shop and tell them they where only a hour later and had two bikes. when in reality they had 4 adult bikes 2 kids bikes and like 6 helmets. after i got the call and explained to the other shop they had way more then 2 of our bikes i finally got them to pay. the worst of it though was at the end the guy walks in and looks at me and says i wanna give you a little lesson on costumer service. i finally snapped at this point and said after that little show do you really think you are in any posistion to be lecturing, get the fcuk outta my shop. the customer then yells ive been in customer service for 20 years you should listen to me. me: then you should know how to treat people.
sorry if its a little hard to read.
that is the first time in a really long time i have ever snapped and actually got pissed, it takes a lot to piss me off but the people just finally pushed me over the line. so whats up with you monkeys im sure you have had your share of crazys to deal with this week.

Today's plan: Nothing. I might try to get a run or swim in, but I am highly non-motivated to do anything.

Met fellow monkey Tigg last night at the Brewfest here in Bend. I sampled many lovely beers and enjoyed the fine evening.

My back will be in good working order in 4-8 weeks according to my doctor.

Getting some more tattoo work done on my shoulder/chest piece tonight after work. Pretty stoked.

Morning! Busy off day, packing for ride tomorrow then off to the PNW...
When are you flying in/out? I buy post ride beers if you bring your bike! :) where are you headed to?

1/3 of the power is out in our tower today, mostly fielding tenant calls. My computer is part of the power outage so I can't do any actual work... I vote we shut it down and send everyone home!

Headed to the cabin with the fam and the in laws (which means.s hubby and I can bike together for once! Best in laws ever!):) stoked to sit bu the lake on the dock, drink coronas, and work on my vitamin d consumption/skin cancer!

Make it a great friday monkies!

Freecaster has magically come back to life! Now to finally watch the La Brasse replay....

If only these people would stop expecting me to work.
I wish. One of these days I might actually need to get a real job and need to pass a test. I'll stick with my legal ways of killing brain cells - beer. Which I might just go get right now, actually.

I have seen both now. Both gave me different diagnoses.

Chiropractor said I may have bugled/herniated a disk and that I may have a possible compression fracture.

General practice doctor said it was severe swelling and now is just a bad strain on my low back, but should be getting better over time. He also said he is blown away I didn't have a more serious injury.

I am going to listen to my doctor and if things don't start getting better over the next few days, I will be seeing a specialist. My bike saved my back for sure. The impact was hard enough to bend my rear shock spring (steel), after that I fell onto my low back/ass. Thank you Tomac Primer and your 220mm of rear travel haha

Go see a specialist; don't f* around with your back. I ignored mine for months when it first started acting up and back surgery later, look at me now.

What time is it? ...Oh really?

That was a hardcore nap, y'all.

Hit the trail at sunrise for the third day in a row. Broke a spoke midway through. First time that's ever happened to me.

Gotta get that fixed.

Have a great weekend. :thumb:

Flying into SEATAC Sunday and out Friday. Heading to Oak Harbor, got business to do all week, no bike this time...
Boo. I'll be out of twon both those days--Friday heading up towards Steven Pass where they are opening the first DH Bike Park in WA State over labor day weekend! (Well, at least last I heard... it's been a long time coming and they are busting their balls to get it done, but you know how these things go!)

Anyway, if it does open, you should just send for your bike and stay for the weekend!

Just got home. 5000 verticle feet < 23 miles and every descent was a baby head strewn nightmare, a good portion of which was 10000ft+. Lactic acid threshold breached around mile 2. What a horrific ride with a group of complete dipsh*ts.

Can't wait to do it again.

Last day of work went well. As a going away gift they let me keep my <6 month old laptop, saves me a nice chunk of change. Unexpectedly will be getting paid for this and next years vacation. Although I am going to be broke for the next few years it is hard not to try and convert this financial windfall into more bikes.

As in, "town bicycles"? Should go a long way.

Congrats.

Consider it done.

Where did you guys ride?

Guanella -> Trail 600 -> Burning Bear. So much fun. Not gonna lie, it kicked my ass, I was definitely the slowest guy in the group. I have new motivation to go out again though, I've really slacked off this summer and it showed. I also haven't laughed that hard in some time, great group of folks.
