14 hours* of corporate powerppoint yesterday. 8 more on deck for today. Wtaf? Do management people really think this provides value?
*i guess it was probably only 12 hours if you count lunch dinner and coffee breaks…

My internet went down so instead of streaming something stupid I have been browsing on my phone to purchase something stupid.
I still want to make a truing stand, but if I use mag base dial indicators I can claim them on tax for work. They would also be removable and could be used for setting up wheel bearings and whatnot.

Stayed back at work till 7:30 last night to put a new viscous fan clutch thingy in the work truck. That way I didn't have to put up with the business owner's whinging and Trump-esque bright ideas today, FTS, jumped in the truck and left.

'twas a shitty day of wiring and trying to find decent electrical parts around town.

At work. I foresee myself leaving early as I already feel dead.

Free lunch via one of our suppliers today though, so thats nice.

I think I'm done with talking to people for the week...

Wife is about to not be a CO resident, she's heading east shortly.

I'm still here for another dozen days. Hoping to get some riding in, in between the packing. Plus I need to list an old road bike and get it sold before I leave...

Besides the political BS this was the one big thing that never stopped thinking about. It even looked like the people who were good at running long powerpoint shows were perceived as better employees.

Old road bike you say? I’ve been kicking around the idea of picking up an old road bike to use on the indoor trainer thingy, instead of converting my gravel bike whenever I want to use it. Which means I never use the trainer, because we can generally ride outdoors often enough even in the winter that I don’t wanna deal with it. Shoot me the listing when you have it?

Morning Monkeys.

Everyone thought snow was coming, but rain @ 45* != snow, so there is that. Looks like mid 40's all week, so it will just be wet. At least it's Friday, and payday, yay!

Nobody can say you two didn't make the most of your time there. I, for one, will always cherish the memories we had.

Best of luck with the move. I hope we cross paths again.

That's where I've had it since lockdown. Will do.

Fond memories of our CO rides Timmeh. I'm sure there will be some NE road trips in our future as S hasn't done anything beyond the stuff near to NYC we rode while there - and at that point she was very, very beginner versus how she crushes stuff now.

When I worked at GE we had a sales meeting at some university in Canaderp. For closing remarks they had the university president give a talk.

He basically said we just wasted a week as stuffing people in a room for 12 hours a day and jamming info down their throats doesn't work, people cannot focus for that long. Pretty sure I was the only person who was listening to him. Point proven

Good morning, today we are having tamales at work for Día de la Candelaria since it's on Sunday we are doing this today. (Día de la Candelaria by tradition he who gets baby jeebus on the rosca de reyes (me) has to give tamales)

FFS, Pearson airports parking reservation website let me register an account with more than 15 characters.

But their logon page only allows 15 characters to be entered.

Whoever made this shit needs a slap. :banghead:

I love when people try to circumvent a process saying that it's "urgent and they don't have time", only to spend 3x the time it would have taken to use the process writing emails explaining why they don't have time to use the process.

If I find the subject interesting I can pay attention. Lots of classes in grad school were super intense dumps of information, but after about 1.5 hours of intense focus I was exhausted.

That being said my attention span at work is about 30 seconds. Which is fine as anyone who has anything important to say, does it in 30 seconds, but most people here think they get paid by the word so lots of pointless rambling that isn't worth listening to.
