Stuck a finger into my eye in my sleep the other day and the eye still hurts so going to the doctor - how stupid was that :-(

Working from home and getting ready to drive to Sweden for my birthday. Staying overnight and then my birthday present is a hopefully fun gravel ride tomorrow over 150km with 1800m of climbing. Its free and self supported so I plan to ride with my a backpack which I havn't done before but hopefully it's not too annoying. I don't have fancy bags to avoid it.

Rain and the snow is melting quite rapidly. All of the rain we got back in January is keeping the culvert in my driveway frozen solid. That will give me a flooded driveway when I get home from work tonight. Good time ahead.

So far this has been a rare GOOD day at work. Not that work is "bad" lately, just so busy to the point that it is unmanageable and at times overwhelming. But it's nice to have a good day once in a while. I also slept 9+ hours last night. And to top it off, my Boston Marathon training officially hits the TAPER stage this weekend, meaning I've completed my training and it is time to start scaling back. I am so fucking happy about that!

In hell. Welcome!
Rain and windy here, hoping it will destroy all the ice that's left on our trails. Time to get the trail bike ready for the dirt season, the excitement is intensifying!

Here. Interview with HR in 2 hours, however I had a conversation last night on our personal phones with the hiring director... There is a disconnect as to where we are in the process between the company and the guy making the decision.

there's a problem with my ///Alfa. oof. who would have guessed. Can't get in for service until April 3rd (pending loaner availability). sad_trombone.wav

@I Are Baboon - are you running the marathon? So is my brother. I might be there. Keep your eyes peeled for the white guy in the hat cheering people on! I am of average height, average weight, average appearance, and I will be in an average part of the course where everyone else is, so I should stand out. Maybe I'll wear a red sox cap so you can see me better. I'm guessing you'll be the white guy running in shorts and a shirt, with sneakers on and an angry look on his face? Maybe pretty sweaty? If you could, look really miserable the entire time so I can see you when you run by.

Hmmm. So it seems I do not have permissions to restart a service on this one server, but I can reboot it which in turn should reset said service. Hmmmm the urge to push the go button is strong.

I will look for you! I should be easy to spot, especially since I'll be wearing a tank top instead of a shirt, and a visor instead of a hat. I'll also be one of the skinny guys, though not African skinny (nor black) like the guy that will win.

Middle child just got done with her course of antibiotic cream for pinkeye. Eldest child promptly got it, and maybe the baby, too!

It's a party all around.

The only thing I have to do today is send out an invoice & renew my tags.
I may go ski or day drink...or both.

we don't use it as a babysitter. he's essentially never allowed to use it inside the house. basically only on long car rides, and even then we control what apps and tv shows / movies he gets to watch. when used correctly they are great educational tools.

yeah, we are totatlly on the fence about devices & social media.
On one had they are digital crack (for adults too) but then again, can be sweet tools to use for imagination.
Adi (10) now has an IG account, so the rest of social media aint far behind. I know there will be lots of friend drama & she will waste a lot of time, etc... but its hard for me to poo-poo it becuase I get paid decently to create content for those platforms. Point being, she could easily get a lucartive job, being creative doing what I do.

I just hate those stupid games where all they do is tap somthing dumb repeatedly & without any critical thinking skills or creativity.

rode home from the pub a little tipsy last night. hung my chain lock from my handlebars. about 100 yards from my house, my chain got wedged in my front wheel and I went OTB quite violently. have a goose-egg on my quad, hurt my hip flexor, and reinjured the elbow I'd been doing physio on. still quite sore.

interviewed a few strong candidates this morning, and I'm now listening to CCR while doing mundane stuff at work. :dead:

Management and HR are now assessing "requirement" to fill the position. It's a non-revenue generating position and if there is concern about company revenues, those are hit first. Apparently revenues were missed Q1, so... Field position is revenue generating and I am a revenue generator, so it should be, hopefully, an easier position to stick.

The meeting went really well and HR was not aware that I had talked to the director last night. It was short, mostly confirming the roles and making sure that I know what the position is, what field work I've done in the past, and to make sure that I know how to sell the product line (which I already do).
