Looks like a pretty sweet bike to me. How long have you been making bikes and how long did it take you to design that bike? That is sick!

Any more info you can give us?

Geometry?
Travel?
Hub spacing?
Is that a 1.5 headtube?
What is the distance of the pivot above the bottom bracket?

Longue vie à Cycles Appalache! :thumb:

I had the pleasure to watch the bike at my lbs yesterday and it's such a nice evolution of the BB7 design. You can see a lot of though went into the design and many details are very interesting. Think of it as a simplified and improved BB7. In particular, the pulley design is extremely nice...

Plus it's a gorgeous bike! Félicitation! :dancing:

Edit: From what I saw, it's a 135 mm spacing, 1.125 HT, 9" travel and the BB-pivot distance is around 5.5" if I remember well.

Guys, just to let you know that the distributor (Yodo Distribution) asked us to removed the spy pics from the web until friday when the official pics will be published. You'll appreciate the difference when you'll see it. Its for your own good. ;)

Flipside is right, 135mm hub, 73 BB shell, 9 in. travel, 16.5 chainstays, 14.75 BB height, frame weight with a steel spring is around 10 pounds. The pictures are courtesy of Jamie at Balfa UK and I will be with Yodo at the BTAC in Montreal.
Thanks to everyone! and see you soon!

Dang, I was hoping for a 150mm rear end, 9.5 X 3.0 shock, and the same pivot height as the bb7. Of course all of these things would have increased the weight...

Probably what they had handy when they built the bike. The one I saw at my lbs had a 5th.

Most 2.75/ 8.75 shock will fit. Mine has a Avalanche, a Fox DHX fits.
production bikes (They will be available just after the btac show) have a Manitou swinger 6 way.
The 6.7'' travel will not use a hi pivot/pulley.

Looks gorgeous. Really nice and clean, and a pretty unbelievable weight.

Nice work!

Canfield knock-off??? The Balfa BB7s have been around for a loooooong time now.

And open your eyes...they're totally different even though they both have pulleys.
