Of the eight Canadian soldiers injured in the bombing, six returned to Canada the following week. The two others were treated for minor injuries and remained with their unit in Afghanistan. The unit, the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, has since returned to Canada.
My fathers college roomate (and boot camp buddy) had some problems with his ankles....and with all the marching they did in training he ended up basically walking on his ankles....foots rotated inboard.
Army was going to release him "IF" he signed a waiver releasing the military from any responsibility to treat or repair the damage to his ankles/feet. I don't think they would do that if it was impossible to sue the military. *shrug*
He refused to sign...they threatened to send him to Vietnam and he said fine. I will collaps walking from the airplane and you can treat me there. (or something to that effect)
