I remember seeing something on here about running FSA Orbits without the top bearing cover (with a dual crown fork) to reduce stack heights. What's the go with that and does anyone know how much it decreases stack height by? Also which model of the Orbits?

well, you could do that with any split wedge headset. as long as the crown clears the cup, you're good. you might need a really thin headset spacer below the upper crown to create said clearance.

I have an Orbit Z 1.5 R and I can get the crown super slammed with the original wedge.

I have to run a Risse Flat crown to run the crown all the way slammed with my frame so the crown doesn't hit the TT.

Cheers, hopefully I'll be able to run a normal orbit MX like that.

buckoW, you even manage to make everyone jealous with a picture of your headset... just had to get that glacier in didn't you :thumb:
