Enjoy the hike up at the topI'm still at it ladies. Riding Canyon Creek Loop tomorrow.
We just finished two weeks in Del Norte area so yep, Penitente, Frisco, Silver Mtn, Pronghorn, Stone Quarry... In Pagosa for a couple weeks before that, Durango....goes on and on.I think I see some Penitente, and maybe Frisco trail? I really gotta get down to the SSJ's. What else you guys doing up in the Canyon Crik area? I've heard rumors (@Full Trucker) that Horseshoe Creek is worth a bomb down as well...
It's in the "middle" of the Canyon Crik loop. I've heard it's steep, loose, and chunky. We just finished two weeks in Del Norte area so yep, Penitente, Frisco, Silver Mtn, Pronghorn, Stone Quarry... In Pagosa for a couple weeks before that, Durango....goes on and on.
We'll hit all the usuals here. Horseshoe huh?
I wanna get out to ride Alpine Tunnels since it was under snow last summer. It's in the "middle" of the Canyon Crik loop. I've heard it's steep, loose, and chunky.
I've always been curious about Canyon Crik -> Quartz Creek... but it kinda goes the wrong way off that ridge - you'd have to get back via a lot of jeep road.I wanna get out to ride Alpine Tunnels since it was under snow last summer.
A group of us just rode the Little browns creek loop on Saturday, that downhill is as good as you'll find.I wanna get out to ride Alpine Tunnels since it was under snow last summer.
Is the loop little browns and upper browns?A group of us just rode the Little browns creek loop on Saturday, that downhill is as good as you'll find.

@6thElement seems to have you sorted, but to pile on here I do have one group of friends that pushed their bikes up Upper Brown's to descend Little Brown's Creek... and they said it was hike-a-bike the entire way and not even likely to be fun as a descend due to awkward and plentiful rocks. And these are the types of people that enjoy awkward and plentiful rocks, mind you.Is the loop little browns and upper browns?
Yeah - I'd go so far as to say the partial-shuttle is mandatory... the full loop would be pretty brutal.IMO Canyon Creek isn't worth the effort. I know, blasphemy but there are far better downhills. Now, the view is kickass for sure!!!! Pictures in link.
Canyon Creek Loop
All around Salida.Jeezus - with the number of beetle-killed trees in those last few photos, I'm thinking they were taken in the San Juans?
