I have an '08 trek fuel. love the bike when it comes to climbing and most singletrack, but cant help but want some more travel on some stuff. So why don't I sell it you might ask? well I put a pretty significant dent in the downtube from carrying the bike on a truck tailgate DH style(with pad) while rallying. PSA: Don't carry your XC bike especially a tin can trek DH style!!! i guess this will pretty much kill any resale value the frame has, so I thought I might try and mess with it a bit to see how it turns out.
can I use anything from a remedy to gain some extra travel, perhaps the evo link off of it? I'd like to keep the geometry close to the fuel if not a little bit lower/slacker but not by much, similary to the remedy would be good. is this a pipe dream not worth messing with?
