my hippie co-worker was offended by that. he said that they use sub titles to make fun of, demean or whatever, the person who is talking. I said, I thought they put them in for people that have a hard time understanding what the speaker is saying so the viewer can get the information as the speaker is giving it. he didn't agree with me.....
