Losinj is a super nice place, but the track in its current state looks a little too short for a world cup.

We might not make it to 2018, when's the first race this year as hopefully we'll still be around for that?

What percent of the $$$ the UCI charges the resort goes back into the Top 5 riders pockets? They ever gonna get a real sponsor? Someone that can throw in $2-$3 Million for the season so people can make money?

Part of the reason MSA sticks around every year is due to the Quebec government throwing in some big $$$.

Hi!
Here is some information about Downhill Lošinj (Croatia) venue. Well it is unique and different but we feel it will be good for the World cup. Track is rough and mostly natural.

GoPro from 2016 track (several changes are being made for this years UCI C1 race 22/23rd of April 2017, and for the world cup '18)
and venue preview:
Best regards!

(someone should tell your new president how small the US looks that way, maybe that will help, lol)
Windham is not Tremendous enough for Trump to support it.

That new track looks...interesting. Looks fun, but doesn't seem like a normal WC-caliber track. I imagine the riders won't be happy about the giant stone walls creating a narrow tunnel down huge sections of the track.

I dont know, other than rhe road at the top and an actual road at the bottom i thought it looks sufficiently steep and rough enough to be a good track.

agreed, but if you take out those sections it was probably less than 2 minutes, being ridden by a non-WC rider. Those walls of rock are crazy too. Maybe whatever changes are being/will be made will help (?)

Video shows the track from last year and is being ridden by a WC rider, infact, he was 24th at Worlds in Andorra '15 so that was fast! Moreover, there was positive feedback from European champ, IXS cup winner and also muliple WC winner. As mentioned before, changes will be made for this years event with more in line for the WC.

The stats of the course look pretty much like Willingen of old (length, elevation loss), which was universally hated on because too short and such. But at least it had line choices. It would be great if you guys could make multiple lines in different places that reward risk taking and maybe build some big jumps at the top? And then in the streets have some urban DH race style obstacles so Filip Polc and Fischbach get a chance to win a WC. :D

Throw in some big ol' jumps up top and open one door at random on the bottom section for each rider should make it pretty exciting.

@WC in Croatia...

The results will be "shocking"!

It will send "waves" across the Atlantic!

Everyone's race number will be divisible by 3.

It will be the first night time WC race in the history of the UCI. It will be powered by AC and have florescent lights to light up the course. Radar will be used of course in the speed traps.

Or build a fake wall out of styrofoam blocks that racers could "explode" through for maximum viewer "wow" effect. that would be cool.

Can't Red Bull just bring Borat in to do the speech and call the day off?

Minefields should certainly be an improvement over many existing WC rockgardens.
Maybe they'll send a suicide bomber down the course chasing the riders while spectators throw stones at you.

I think we're on to something here.

Camels with bike racks to get the racers up top? Yakima? Thule?

Bike parks build trails for people who to go out and ride trails they don't normally have access to. That means sculpted jumps and berms. It means trails that aren't super susceptible to erosion from thousands of riders on them in all weather conditions. It means trails that don't need constant maintenance to keep working. It means cutting brush, trees, and debris back further from the trail.

And they also happen to be some of the few places with the money and facilities to host races. If they want to make money back from hosting it by selling visitors on a rideable world cup track, good for them. Trail looks fine, and there will probably be some tight racing on it.

Looking forward to it.
