Yo,

The first FR trail date will take place on Saturday, October 31st. If you're enjoying last years work on Scorp, Evo, Mullet, PT, Luge, SST, then this year's goals might just blow your minds! Come out, give back to the hill and get some trail karma in return.

If you've got little ones and need to bail early to take them trick or treating, that's not a problem.

Cheers,
EB

Details per Hawk:
It's official. The WMBC FR Trail Crew is kicking off the trail building season in style with a Halloween Build Day Bash! We'll once again be having 1 build day per month and have shop sponsors to provide volunteers, food & bevvies, and possibly some swag.

Our first build day of the season will be Saturday, Oct. 31 starting at 10 am and sponsored by Fanatik Bikes. This build day will focus on maintenance and rebuilding some features (lips, transitions, berms) on Evolution and Scorpion. Both trails have seen a ton of traffic this summer and are showing it.

We'll meet at the Lake Padden parking area off Samish Hwy (near Galbraith Lane). starting at 9:45 and drive up in trucks shortly after 10. Bring work gloves, weather appropriate clothing, water, a snack, and your bike if you want to get a ride in after trail work. We'll provide tools, protective equipment, and cool projects to work on. Fanatik will be providing a light breakfast/coffee, pizzas for lunch, and maybe some swag at the end of the day.

Last year, Fanatik sponsored 2 of our build days and we rallied around 40 volunteers both times. Let's keep the good turnouts going and get both Scorp and Evo fixed up and shred ready.

Cheers,
Hawk

***BUMP***

I work Saturdays. :(

You guys pimped the sh*t out of those trails last year for sure - thanks!!!:thumb:
Thanks! We alternate build days between Saturday and Sunday during the season to accommodate for just those types of scheduling issues. Keep an eye out for the November date as that'll likely fall on a Sunday.

This year's plan is even more ambitious (improve existing trails and adding new stuff too), so we'll need the help for sure!

That first ***BUMP*** was so nice that I HAD to do it twice!!! :D
Thanks for the bump, Andy! :)

The FR trail plan was approved by the WMBC board and by Trillium (minus one item that we'll need to do some re-routing). I'll get that up for everyone to view shortly, but we're aiming to get a LOT done this year from pimping current trails to building killer new stuff.

Connectivity is also a big theme.....have trails flow right into each other - similar to how Mullet goes straight into CCWR or how Scorp now goes into Luge.

Hiked with Hawk last night to get the project list together. We decided we're gonna focus Saturday's effort entirely on pimpin' Evo top-to-bottom with bigger berms and trannies and fixing drainage spots. Fanatik Bikes is sponsoring this one, so you know we'll have a good turnout.

FYI, Evo will be closed all day Saturday during trailwork and maybe on Sunday as well to help the fresh dirt settle a bit.

Pimp my trail. That was the theme on Saturday for Evo and the turnout was kind of unreal....easily in the 50+ range. Serious props to everyone that took a day off the bike to give back to the hill.

Fanatik Bikes not only takes great care of the volunteers with coffee/pastries and tons of lunch, but they bring out the troops for their traildays. It's gotta be hard for their loyal customers and employees to skip these days when Russ B, Mark, Kathy and Kelsey are all out busting their butts setting an example of giving back. Some of the best peeps in the 'ham, I tell ya.

Organic is gone, drainage is dialed, berms are much bigger, trannies are better, and jumps have been cleaned up. Evo is pimped!

WARNING: The entire trail has seen improvements and changes. That means trannies and lips have a lot more dirt added. Please look at everything before you decide to give'r.

This was the sight down the entire trail.

This berm was blownout and total mush. Improved drainage and much bigger now.
