Hi all,

The FR crew will have our 2nd trailday of the season this Sunday. The plan is to give Mullet a full makeover before the winter. The business end will get a couple of small reroutes and some pumpers and berms to speed it up. The party end will get some holes fixed, drainage done and general maintenance.

Kulshan Cycles is this week's sponsor. If we have enough folks, we'll likely move some folks down to Cheech and Chong's to do some additional maintenance.

Cheers,
EB

More info. from Hawk:

Riders, our next build day is this Sunday, Nov. 14th and we'll be working on the Mullet. There's a few spots on the lower section that need some love, but a majority of our efforts will focus on speeding up the upper section by adding some pump bumps, better drainage, and a few short reroutes to increase the flow. Those new to trail building are encouraged to attend as we'll be doing general maintenance as well as cutting in a couple new sections of trail. If we have a good turnout like our last build day, we'd also like to get some guys down on CCWR to fix a couple sections and rebuild a couple jumps.

New Meet Spot! We've outgrown the upper Padden parking lot so we will now start meeting at the Lake Padden softball field/dog park area. There is way more parking and it's off the highway. There will be coffee and bagels courtesy of Kulshan Cycles starting around 9:45 and we'll roll out shortly after 10. Kulshan will also be providing pizzas for lunch and bevies during the day. Bring work gloves, your favorite tool (although we supply many tools), weather appropriate gear (looks like sun) and your bike if you want to get some riding in after working. Come on out on what should be a stellar fall day.

Soooo.....I missed the bulk of the trailday, but got out long enough to work on some drains on the upper section.

Below is an overview of the day from Hawk:

Mullet got some upgrades yesterday thanks to a solid crew of volunteers who braved a misty November day to throw some dirt. There were 35-40 of us working throughout the day and many projects got completed, especially on the upper section. Drainages were cleared, holes were patched, brush and branches got lopped back, but more importantly, we were able to punch in the 3 reroutes that we've been planning for awhile. The first two were done to speed up and add flow to a couple slow sections. These turned out great. So good that riders now have enough speed to hit the jump-over-vegetation option we added. The third reroute was designed to actually slow riders down and set them up better as they approach the skinny/log ride feature before exiting the upper section to the first road crossing.

The lower section got a bit of attention too as a rough section that goes around a stump got more dirt, and the berm with the hole in it after the craftmatic jump had some rock added to it. Lower section still needs some more work.

Lots of fresh dirt on the trail right now and lots of precipitation in the forecast. If you ride Mullet, take it chill on the new work and take different lines to avoid creating ruts. We'll probably do another build day on Mullet in the spring to get it built up and buffed out for summer.

Huge thanks to Zac and the rest of the Kulshan Cycles crew for sponsoring the build day.

A new reroute section going in.
