So I just got my Gemini DH in today and all i can say is WOW. The rear end is the most impressive part with the floater and 12mm rear. Im blown away It was soo much nicer then I even anticipated. My question is this. Is the e13 adapter Vital in running a SRS? I called evil and asked where I could get one and they said QBP should have them but they didnt help me much either. Can I just run it wihtout a tad ghetto or do I REALLY need the adapter?

Thanks and if you can give me any set up advice and what not thatd be awsome. I have a DHX and Dorado on the way to replace the 888 and 4 way it came with, It really was odd tho, Cannondale gave me the flat bottem crown with the 888 but the 888 is a VF for some reason? I already had someone interested so I just had them get me a dorado and my price and swapped straight up. Anyway thanks for the help ill have tons of pics up by friday when all the stuff comes in. Im going for the red white and blue look with a patriot king headset as well. IT should be cool!

I would PM T. EAKIN or holliswood - they've got Gemini's and were some of the first ppl to setup e13 SRS's on that bike.

Ofcourse, contacting DW or John P or contacting e13 on fit would be the standard line:

Telephone
phone: (207) 772-3132
fax: (207) 772-3163

Postal Address
e.thirteen components
98 Preble St.
Portland, ME 04101
USA

E13 sells a $45(?) boomerang specifically for mounting the srs to a gemini. If you don't mind ghetto style, or would rather spend the cash on lap dances, cut/grind the top 1/2 to 3/4 inch of standard b-rang and roll it clockwise as far as it'll go. I had to use 1/4-20 nuts as tab spacers with no performance issues. The lower roller wheel might run a bit lower than the Gem spec. though.

The Gemini NEEDS the adapter to run a chainguide properly. The ISCG mounts on a Gemini are welded so far out of whack that its literally impossible to set up a stock chainguide correctly on them. Due to Canondale's manufacturing process, they have decided to keep building bikes with the faulty tabs and let riders get an adapter back plate instead of building new BBs with the tabs in the right spots and using a stock back plate.

biker3,
If you want your SRS guide to work flawlessly, you must buy the Gemini specific backplate from E-thirteen. As Dave told you Cannondales ISCG tabs are off , I think by around 30 degrees. If you call E-thirteen and buy the backplate, and it's probably a good idea to buy one of their chainrings so it works perfectly, you should not have any problems. Put the backplate on when you get it and use the longer bolts and 3 spacers and your chainline will be as straight as a freshman on prom night! Just call E-thirteen!
